The Scarlet Ibis isn't just the last stop before you head to the San Josef Beach or Cape Scott, it's an institution. Have been here many times. Always great food, a cold frosty one and some small town charm. Pat, the owner, is a great lady and holds down the fort like no other. Order the fish and chips. They may be the best on the Island....I'm not kidding... Seriously...

A great little restaurant to have a meal at after a long hike and before a long drive home. They have a little store with some food and drink options for taking camping, and the restaurant food is great. The staff are always friendly.

I had a great time getting to know the staff and the food/ hospitality was just what I needed. The Scarlet Ibis became my home-base while exploring the northwestern side of the island. Their knowledge of the area really helped in giving me an insight to an incredible assortment of locations.

Drove to the North end of Vancouver Island to eat here and they were closed both times we passed them. We'll take our friend's word for it that they have the "best fish and chips on Vancouver Island." Catch you on the next tide.
